Guernsey

Guernsey is one of the British Channel Islands, and is situated in English Channel between France and the UK. It measures approximately 27 sq. miles, and has a population of approximately 65,000. Although British, Guernsey is not part of the UK, and it enjoys fiscal and political independence. The currency used in the islands is the British Pound (GBP), and although the Island's Government (the States of Guernsey) prints its own notes, English notes circulate freely alongside them.

Over the recent decades Guernsey has developed as a leading international financial centre, with significant banking, trust, fund management and captive insurance operations being based here. For more information and up-to-date statistics on the financial services sector in Guernsey, please refer to the Guernsey Financial Services Commission's website at www.gfsc.gg.

Guernsey offers unrivalled opportunities for both quality of work and quality of life. Stunning beaches and scenery, excellent sporting, leisure and recreational facilities, and easy access to the UK mainland and Continental Europe are just some of the attractions. These attractions, combined with great career opportunities and low levels of personal and indirect taxation, form a winning combination.
